“What do you want for your birthday?” I had asked my granddaughter who just turned 9.
“My own phone.”
Though according to Mom and Dad, that’s not going to happen,
“All my friends have one,” she said.
Isn’t that the reasoning most kids use? Maybe not just the kids. No matter our age, we covet what others do, what they have and what they achieve. It’s human nature. But, God’s nature is to nudge us to give thanks for what we do have, at all times, at every turn…that’s the secret of sweet contentment.
