“That’s way cool!” my friends say when I describe how I navigate from application to application in my computer.

Not difficult at all for this blind chica because I use a screen reader. Using different key commands, I accomplish what sighted folks do using the mouse.

I may be working on a Word document, then with two quick keystrokes I change applications and read emails.

Blushing a bit, I confess, I make that same change with the applications in my heart.

On Sundays I attend church, worship, receive spiritual food, and fill my soul with powerful truths. But Monday comes and ugly moments show up. Way too quickly, I changed from the application of peace to one that displays toxic worry.

Have you done that? You might have. Even though you know better. You’re aware of God’s truth and you even mastered the path to a victorious life.

But like most people, life comes at you—glitches here, conflicts there, and dark headlines everywhere. Before you know it, your heart displays a different screen. One that lists lies courtesy of the enemy of your soul.

Satan Lies!

His plan is to snatch you and drag you to his camp of discouragement and doubt.

And that doubt grows as he feeds these lies:

• God is not willing to remove your anxiety.
• God is not capable to bring answers to your problems.
• He’s not aware of the details that cause your fear.
• He’s not able to put back the pieces of your broken heart.
• He cannot change the path of your wrong choices

That’s Satan’s language. That’s how he builds the worry that digs at you during sleepless nights. That’s his path to depression, hopelessness and despair.

Great news: you have a choice—to feed the worry, or find the wonder. Find the humanly incomprehensible wonder that God’s love, that has no limit, is bigger than the problem that taunts at you. He’s mightier than any attacks that come at you. And He’s stronger than any ties from the past that keep you bound.

Now it’s your turn to speak.

You speak the language of faith, the words that echo His truth, and affirm out loud what Jesus says:

“Therefore, do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own” (Matthew 6:34).

And with scraps of worry in the garbage disposal of life, your heart sings, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust” (Psalm 91:2).

No more doubting, fretting or shaking because you know “Surely, he will save you from the fowler's snare and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart. You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the plague that destroys at midday” (Psalm 91:3-6).

Let’s Pray

Father, thank you for the reassurance that You have me and my family covered. Thank You for the sleep that comes at night as you silence the lies. I praise you for the reassurance You whisper into my heart, removing worry from my mind. In Jesus’ name.
