Book Janet

Hi, I’m Janet Perez Eckles

I’m an author and keynote speaker on resilience. As a young mom to three active little boys, I woke up one morning shocked to discover the retinal disease that had been robbing my eyesight won by taking the remaining sliver of eyesight I had been holding onto. But blindness was only the beginning of tragedies from which I had to rise above and conquer. I realized that in today’s climate of chaos and turmoil, many also struggled with unexpected setbacks that can paralyze them emotionally, blocking their performance.

That’s why today, I not only inspire but transform the mindset of business professionals, faith-based leaders, and college students so they can triumph and succeed through the power of resilience. I use five principles highlighted in my books and blend them with riveting stories and unexpected humor to show proof that even unthinkable tragedies can be transformed to unstoppable success.

I may not have eye contact with my audiences, but since I connect with their hearts, they discover that no matter how impossible life can get, it’s possible to build their own resilience to turn adversity to opportunities and become stronger, better, and more determined. Through God’s grace, I live with joy, so I make my audiences laugh. I welcome challenges, so I show them how to overcome them. I thrive in success, so I teach them how to bring down barriers.

When not speaking or writing, I enjoy life by disregarding my blindness and head off to parasail with friends, compete in a beauty pageant, sail off on a cruise ship, or dance flamenco. But my priorities are church attendance and spending time with my husband, Dale, as well as our adult children and grandchildren.

I look forward to working with you so your group can learn to shine with resilience.
