Let me tell you about Greg and Cindi, our closest friends. They’ve not written any books, nor received awards, applause or public recognition. Their names weren’t mentioned in the news.
But when the neighbor next door, who has no family nearby, needs help, they’re there. When he needs to get food, to visit the doctor, to hold his hand while receiving bad news at the hospital, or to offer encouraging words, or just a hug, they’re there. When he began hospice care and in the middle of the night, when he feels afraid and lonely, they hop out of bed and walk over to see him through.
I admire them and wondered, why don’t we hear about folks like these in the news? Or in the who’s who list of genuine Christians?
